This helps me walk into top situations with a humble heart, ready to encourage with honesty and transparency versus fight a battle that’s already won.

He handles every task with grace. He can do almost anything and never boasts or pats himself on the back. If I am in a poor mood and begin speaking low he will gently say “don’t judge.” In the most calm voice. A constant reminder of Gods word and grace. I never feel judged in my moments of weakness, just guided.

I am so lucky to have such a close display in my life. Pride comes up for me mostly in parenting and motherhood, and towards my husband. I am quick to be hostile and prideful when I feel my judgement is being challenged. It is also prideful to compare myself to other moms, as it is undermining everything God is doing for me.

I feel the Holy Spirit calling me to surrender any burdens and control to him, because it is even prideful for me to think all the weight falls on me.

I try to set aside my pride and serve Him with a humble heart. But at times He and others ask for confidence in that humility. To help lead as a servant.

Confidence is not something bad to avoid. I need to work and learn to embrace more confidence.

I consider myself pretty successful in my career; I’ve accomplished all the things I wanted to accomplish thus. For the longest time, especially when I was in the military, I attributed all of that to myself and everything I did. Not really understanding that everything I have, that I am, the things that I am able to accomplish, are because of God. And the things that have gone wrong in my career, just like in my life, are because I have gone against what God wanted me to do. And as I’ve grown older, especially with my current job, this was a little different for this job. I prayed a lot. I remember praying to God to put me into this job only if it is where he wanted me to be, and if he thought I could do it. I know I have the skills, but something in me stirred that I have an opportunity, in everything I do and everywhere I go, to potentially share the gospel with others. And so the spirit has been working and bringing humility to what I accomplish— that everything I do and everything that I am successful in, it is simply because of the grace of God.
