I really think diligence is to be evident in all aspects of our lives. This verse immediately comes to mind…
‘And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.’ Col 3:17 Diligent in the personal sense of stewarding our relationship with Jesus, of how we use our time, how we do our jobs, care for our well-being, tending to our relationships – spouse, children, friends, parents, taking care of our homes. Whatever is before us, do it well. Laziness on the other hand gets us no where and we should not expect fulfillment or success if we do not put effort forth and quite frankly, its an unattractive quality.
Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word, that guides, leads us and shows us your ways. It is my hearts desire to live a life that is pleasing and honoring unto you. Forgive me for the times I become complacent, unmotivated, and lazy; when I make excuses and am apathetic. Thank you Lord for the countless ways you provide, for the ways you have worked in my life and the things you have called me to. May my life be an offering unto you. Amen
