It hadn’t been celebrated since the time of the judges, which means that even King David and King Solomon had neglected this important feast! No wonder they had gone astray; they hadn’t taken care to remember and celebrate who they were as a people. They had forgotten their identity as God’s chosen people to bless all of the nations of the world. We, too, must remember to walk in our identity as God’s children or we, likewise, will stray.
