This verse is interesting bc (most?) Christians only look at the second half of the verse, not acknowledging the first half. We have to remain in Christ and Him in us in order to do the rest. Remaining in Him means abiding in His word, in His Spirit, and in relationship with God. Remaining in Him means seeking His will above our own. We’re going through the book of James at church right now and this whole section of SRT reminded me of what our pastor talked about yesterday in James 4:1-4. We will have an abundant life first and foremost by remaining in Christ, then we can seek His will to be done, and if that doesn’t align with our desires and wants, so be it. God didn’t promise an easy life, he promised an abundant life.
