Reading chapter 3:6 reminded me that what looks good isn’t always good for us!!! We have to seek God for wisdom in all things because He is the true source. I’m also reminded that sin bleeds on to others and we sometimes drag others to participate in our sinful behavior. Yes that person could choose to not do so but still how many times do we include people in things not thinking of what we ourselves are doing. Then reading Romans 5:19 really brought it altogether!!

Genesis 3:21 has to be one of my absolute favorite verses. Even after Adam and Eve did the one thing they were not supposed to do, and brought sin into a perfect world, God STILL took the time to make them clothing so they would not be naked. That magnitude of love is staggering.

I love being reminded through Genesis that God still loves us and provides for us even though we sin. That His love is so much larger than the wrongs we do and he wants us to experience his love no matter what and he will guide us forever. I also really needed the reminder that the “quick and easy” fix we all look for when times are tough or we feel lost is not going to actually fix anything because it’s really easy to get stuck in that mind set. To be patient and trusting in the Holy Spirit is the best thing we can do and to always stay true to that. It brings a peace of mind to be reminded of that.

God’s way… the way of the garden resonates. Living in the north, our growing season is one of patience even when to be able to plant, waiting for warmer temperatures.
God’s way takes time, patience and stillness, a daily investment on our part in His Word to allow Him to create His wisdom in us. Just like the gardener…

For me, the most wonderful, while bittersweet, moment of this passage is 3:21. Even though they sinned and God expressed his disappointment and the consequences (in a very “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed say”), the first thing he did after that was provide. He provided clothes for their naked bodies. What a fatherly thing to do.

i am so glad i’m not the only one who gets second hand embarrassment. i definitely understood when you said wanting to fast forward and cover your eyes. I felt that way when God came into the garden and he knew what they did wrong but they still hid because they knew he wasn’t about to play lol
