To walk in faith and not fear , their times we don’t know the uncertainty on things and that’s when I faith gets tested and that’s where we lead on the lord for guidance and perseverance to trust in him.

Abraham stepping out in faith in unfamiliar, unknown territory just trusting God. I struggle with being in control, I continuously try to do no it out of my own will scared of how things will turn out. My prayer is to get that mustard seed of faith, and really trust in Gods direction not my own.

What Challenges me is the part where God is asking Jesus to go into a place him and his family were not going to. Asking him to trust him blindly. Its something I am so bad at, the fear of the unknown, being uncomfortable. Always a struggle for me.

He will take you through the storm no matter what he will be by your side. He has not failed a promise since the start of time. Even when we try to go our own way if we are actively trying to seek him he will provide a way. Hes faithful and just to not let us sit in our ways. This is a comfort to know, and a challenge to always be seeking him even when I don’t want to.

I think we often misconceive that following God and having unwavering faith means that we have to forego freedom. I think that what the story of Abraham as well as many stories of faith in the bible teach us is that there’s much liberty in relinquishing control and turning to God for guidance. The freedom of accepting that you do not know and cannot know your path but that its direction is outlined in God’s map is liberating.

The part of God’s character that challenged me from today’s reading was how He called Abraham into the unknown. Sometimes God requires obedience even in situations that we don’t completely understand. It can be very difficult to wholly walk by faith and not by sight when you can’t understand the circumstances you’re in or if they seem futile to your mind.

I think when the Lord kept appearing to Abraham.. it’s like the Lord will tell us a million times and he we keep asking well Lord when will it happen or etc he’s like if I said it I’ll perform it ! And it’s gonna be real good ! I think really just trusting in His timing and letting go of our own expectations.. like even showing his wife being barren that’s how it looks for a lot of us but you hear God say other wise and you don’t see it .. wait on the Lorddd he will renew !!

I love that even though God didn’t instruct Abraham to build altars to praise Him while he was traveling to Canaan, Abraham just did it of his own choosing to honor and praise God, knowing that’s what God would want him to do. Faith is such a powerful thing
