Although it feels like it is just one thing after another, nothing seems to be going right. My attitude is just poopy. Then I remember who knows my future. Then I am mad at myself for having a weak moment. Ashamed that I even thought God wasn’t with me, because why would he just keep letting things happen. Well, obedience. He is with me. I must obey, and trust in him.

“With loud cries and tears” is the part that’s getting me today. How many times have I cried out to the Lord with tears streaming down my face? With my heart feeling like it’s in a million pieces. And my God puts it all back together every time. So thankful

Even Jesus cried out to His father for strength and help and God heard Him. He knew in the toughness that he wasn’t alone and I am thankful he did what he did. I need to remember that God is with me and listening in every situation.

I have a hard time praying for anyone through obedience with whatever I’m going through. I need to remember that no matter what my issue is God has already gone before and is always by my side regardless. Through my tears and suffering “pray for those who are coming after me so to speak.”

In reply to Laura. Laura, I am in a season of life where I'm holding onto Jesus with everything in me. His love and comfort is so encompassing and real. I received a serious cancer diagnosis recently and will begin treatment soon, followed by additional surgery. I don't know what the future holds, but I know who holds my future so have nothing to fear. Praise God!

But not all suffering is related to obedience. Some suffering is the result of sin or evil in the world. I think when we suffer we need to ask Who were obeying – is it God? And if we suffer, to consider if we might be suffering in our obedience or because of sin/ evil. Often it’s hard to know. But we can trust that whether we suffer in obedience or in sin that Christ is with us in our suffering and we can have hope in his resurrection that by the Spirit is becoming our own!
