God was using Jacob to show not only his son but all of us that he does not choose us for our birthright, skills, or wisdom he chooses the least of us to bless. God is more interested in being involved with the things we do instead of us constantly doing things for him. He wants to be in a relationship with us and does not care about the greatest and best qualities we have. We just need to have faith in his plan and abide in him

I can respond out of the box to glorify God just how Jacob did when he blessed both sons rather than just the one. Our faith in God and the way we conduct it is not premolded. We have parameters and expectations set by Him to bring others to the Faith, but exactly how we achieve that is up to us as followers within reason.

It helps me by rooting myself in God. Being the fruit that my daughter needs so she can be a good example as a God fearing woman to her kids and so on.

I think one misconception we have today is that we’ll get what’s coming to us as long as we wait enough time. However, I think this made me realize today that maybe we won’t receive the fruit until we step into heaven. Maybe the fruit will be passed on to the next generation. I think I’d be happy knowing the fruits of my faith would be passed down to the children God blesses me with.

As I think about Isaac using his body to the very last drop of life to honor God, I think about how much faith he had to have in offering a blessing to his son and grandsons (now his own sons), without visibly witnessing the custom and tradition of how they are blessed. Jacob wanted his youngest child to be blessed greatly than the eldest. Traditionally, that’s not common so here we see Jacob secretively switching hands as is customary and Jacob hearing the remark from Ephraim about properly placing hands. Jacob blessed both sons, which also is not customary. Jacob used the blessing in both of them and trusted God’s work through Jacob’s life and his sons.

Just because I don’t see results of my faith, trust and prayers doesn’t mean God isn’t hearing and working. His promises will be kept even if not seen until later generations
