Sometimes the “man” whose praise we love is our self. The Pharisees wanted glory but I think they also wanted to control how they were perceived — to stay the hero of their own story. Yikes, me too.

For me – it’s not so much about impressing people. it’s about protecting the ego that whispers, “I don’t need help.”
And yet, faith always asks us to let go of that — to let God be the Author, the finisher, the one who gets the glory through us.

Lord, help me to exchange the illusion of control for the joy of trust.Teach me to let You write the story — to find my worth not in what I accomplish, but in who You are in me.”

And Isaiah 53 always gets me right in the heart. Jesus checked every single box, fulfilled every prophecy, what a mighty God we serve!
