From the garden with Adam and Eve to the incarnation to the gift of His Spirit at Pentecost, God has always stayed close to His people. At the same time, His presence is not limited to any one location or situation. God is present everywhere in His creation, above and beyond it, existing in both the visible and invisible all at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using a series of rhetorical questions, God outlined the all-encompassing nature of His omnipresence through the prophet Jeremiah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>\u201cAm I a God who is only near&#8230;and not a God who is far away? Can a person hide in secret places where I cannot see him?&#8230;Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><br><em>\u2014Jeremiah 23:23\u201324<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While God\u2019s presence fills the heavens and the earth, at the same time, He is always with us. There is no escaping His presence. When we understand God\u2019s heart toward His people, we can find this comforting, echoing the words of the psalmist: \u201cBut as for me, God\u2019s presence is my good\u201d (Psalm 73:28).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before ascending to heaven, Jesus promised His disciples He would send the Holy Spirit to them. His last words in the Gospel of Matthew were, \u201cI am with you always, to the end of the age\u201d (Matthew 28:20). We experience Jesus\u2019s constant presence through His Spirit, who lives in all believers. And one day, when Jesus returns, we will see Him not just with eyes of faith, but \u201cface to face\u201d (1Corinthians 13:12).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God\u2019s omnipresence means He is with us, and His presence extends into eternity as He has promised to never leave us.
