But as a name, Qadosh, or \u201cHoly One,\u201d describes God as one who is set apart from His creation, from all pagan gods, and from everything else because of His perfection. This name works like a double-edged sword: it reminds us that God is perfectly holy in every way, and it reminds us that we are not. The distinction of being the Holy One belongs to Him alone.
